Our God is the God of the impossible - evangelical messages of God's word

21 And Elijah came unto all the people, and said, How long halt ye between two opinions? If the Lord is God, follow him: but if Baal, follow him. The people, however, did not answer anything.
22 Then said Elijah unto the people I was only a prophet of the Lord, but Baal's prophets are four hundred and fifty men.
23 Give to us, therefore, two bulls, and let them choose one bullock for themselves, and cut it in pieces and lay it on wood, but put no fire under: and I will prepare the other bull and lay it on wood , and no fire to it.
24 Then you call on the name of your god, and I call upon the name of the Lord, and let it be the god who answers by fire, he is God. And all the people answered, saying: It is well spoken.
25 Then said Elijah to the prophets of Baal, Choose for yourselves: one bull and prepare it first, for you are many, and call on the name of the Lord your god, but put no fire under.
26 And they took the bullock which was given them, prepared it, and invoked the name of Baal from morning even until noon, saying, O Baal, answer us! But there was no voice and no one answered. And they limped around the altar they had made.
27 it came to pass at noon, that Elijah mocked them, saying, Cry aloud, for he is a god: either he is talking, or he has something to do, or bringing a journey, perhaps he is asleep, and need to agree.
28 And they cried aloud and, as was his custom, cut themselves with knives and lancets, till the blood run over them.
29 And it came to pass, when midday was past, they prophesied until the time of the offering of the evening sacrifice. But there was no voice and no one answered, or answered.
30 And Elijah said unto all the people, Come near unto me. And all the people came to him. And he repaired the altar of the LORD that was broken down.
31 took twelve stones, according to the number of the tribes of Jacob, to whom the word of the Lord, saying, Israel shall be thy name;
32 and with the stones he built an altar in the name of the Lord: and he made a trench around the altar, which would contain two measures of seed.
33 And he put the wood, and cut the bullock in pieces, and put it on the wood, and said, Fill four barrels with water, and pour it on the burnt sacrifice and on the wood.
34 he said, Do it the second time, and made him the second time. And he said, Do it the third time, and made him the third time.
35 So the water ran round about the altar, and he filled the trench also with water.
36 it came to pass when it was time to offer the evening sacrifice, that Elijah the prophet came and said, O Lord God of Abraham, Isaac, and Israel, let it be known today that you are God in Israel; I am your servant, and as you say I have done all these things.
37 Answer me, O Lord, answer me that this people may know that thou, O Lord, art God, and that you have your heart back.
38 Then the fire of the Lord fell and consumed the burnt offering, the wood, the stones and the dust, and licked up the water in the trench.
39 When the people saw it, fell with all their faces and said: The Lord is God! The Lord is God! - 1 Kings 18:21 to 39

While we live here in this world will always be subject to pass through many tribulations, anxieties and problems varied.
The fact is that sooner or later will be subject to going through times of distress or despair because of some problem or adverse situation. Such situations can range from the simplest to the most complicated.

Those who place their trust and faith and trust in God, the Lord Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit of God have come to rely on the powerful name of the Trinity at all times of greatest difficulty.
Such situations can be difficult only because of a speck in the eye of a some kind of choking on food, because of a sticky situation in traffic, a disagreement in employment or family situation of a personal or professional failure and even a situation that requires us simply a higher intelligence or wisdom so we can resolve a situation that, to us it seems too hard to work around.

On the other hand, there are other adverse situations which can arise due to events far more complicated as the betrayal of a partner, a separation, an injustice, a chase at work, a major financial crisis, a completely unfavorable medical diagnosis, a situation of great danger and many other situations as serious as those that are subject to pass while living in this world dominated by sin and the father of sin.

Now! We all know that our God is a living God, tremendously strong and powerful and that He is always by our side.
However, when men and women are weak and discouraged along the way, especially spiritually, they end up becoming an easy target for the constant attacks that the enemy of God strikes against our faith and trust in Almighty God.

It is in these moments of weakness that we must be ever present in our minds and our hearts as our God is powerfully present and able to respond to and deliver us from all dangers, evils or complicated situations.

In this large and impressive passage where the anointed prophet Elijah challenges the prophets of Baal can see the clear manifestation of the power of our God as He is manifested by a brisk fire on the sacrifice made by the man of God.

We all know that is impossible for man to set fire to something wet.
However, the wonderful manifestation of power that the Lord did that day is just to remind us that we do have, one God, strong, alive and tremendously powerful on our side and that, for the same and wonderful God, there is nothing impossible or anything too complicated that he can not turn into blessings upon blessings to the lives of those who put Him your strength and hope.

Just like our God sent down fire from heaven on that drenched sacrifice He also:

Walked on water;
Knocked down walls;
It opened the seas;
He who was the weakest one that won was the strongest;
Multiplied the food to where there was;
Turned water into wine;
He who had no vision;
Gave health who had no more hope;
Did the dead back to life ...

... And, mysteriously impressive and gave his own life and then resumed when it was wonderful and glorious resurrection, showing once and for all that, for our God is not impossible and that, in the universe, there is absolutely nothing He can not do or change.

Very good! We know that our God is a living God, strong and powerful, but as we have access, and see this wonderful power of God is truly making a difference in our lives?

We will follow the guidance that God himself gave us about it:

22 Jesus answered them, Have faith in God.
23 Verily I say that whoever says to this mountain, 'Arise and cast into the sea, and not doubt in his heart but believes that it will do what it says, so it will be done.
24 Therefore I tell you whatever you ask in prayer, believe that ye receive them, and have it here.
25 Whenever you stand praying, forgive, if ye have ought against any: that your Father in heaven may forgive you your trespasses.
26 [But if ye do not forgive, neither will your Father who is in heaven will not forgive your trespasses.] - Mark 11:22 to 26

That's exactly what the blessed prophet Elijah did on that historic day. In no time he doubted the true God, the unique and powerful God in whom he trusted and deposited, not only His heart, like all faith and hope.
By faith the prophet of God knew the Lord was with him. Even in the midst of that situation so adverse where only he had the Lord and the others were by the enemy he knew that the God of his confidence never disappoint.

It is just that. Our God will never disappoint us. He does not abandon us. He does not let his word fall to the ground. He is not a man to lie and He honors and complies with all the words and promises and does what he does for all of our lives. We we place all our faith in Him, heart, wisdom, strength and hope.

Thus it happened that day with the blessed prophet Elijah was a human being like you and me.
The Lord was present there and broke all the impossible manifesting with fire and power. So too will happen in our lives when we learn to put into practice this valuable teaching that our God has given us.

Believe in God the Father, the Lord Jesus Christ, the Holy Spirit of God, pray and never doubt the power, faithfulness and power of the Holy Trinity to answer what, in prayer in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our God and ask the Lord.

Amen and thank God. Stay in the peace of the Lord Jesus Christ.
