The story of King Asa - gospel messages of God's Word

The story of King Asa With all the Lord! Without the Lord only confusion and defeat.

2 Chronicles 14-16

King Asa was a king who found much favor with the Lord because he loved and was faithful to his God. Asa destroyed the idols and made the people to return your heart to recognize and worship the one God Almighty and powerful.

King Asa did not spare anyone to walk in the ways of the Lord. He did not fail to rebuke even his mother, because she loved the idolatrous and false gods. The trustworthiness, sincerity and obedience to his commandments, and God our Father is pleased him very much and so wonderful, blessed and prospered in all his endeavors.

An episode in which a lot of attention is the procedure that the king was blessed when the impending battle with the strong Ethiopian. Even in the great disadvantage of men and arms him with great faith, went to war relying on their limited resources, but also relying more on strength and power of the Lord's Army. The result of such faith and perseverance is what the Lord gave him an extraordinary victory.

Before going to battle King Asa prayed and cried to the Lord saying:

O Lord, help is nothing to you, whether you want the powerful that have no power. Oh help us, because the Lord our God: for in thee, and in thy name we go against this multitude. O Lord, thou art our God, not man prevail against thee. 2 Chronicles 14:11

By trust, prayer and cry of the king can easily see how he was faithful and trusted in the power and might of the Lord of Victory.

However, the journey with the Lord Jesus requires patience and perseverance. We can not accommodate or discourage the walk. The problems and difficulties there will always appear, and when they come we can never forget the first count on the Lord and then with things and people in the world.

That's what happened with King Asa. No one knows what would have happened for him to have discouraged their journey with God, because you realize that the biblical accounts at any given moment the king forgot the Lord who has given him so many victories and because of that things started to get complicated for him and for his people.

Although men of God have tried to warn him about the faithfulness and perseverance in the covenant with the Lord, that was not enough that the king should remain steadfast in faith and strength and power of the God of Life and Win:

We are not told about what had happened to the king that he had come in great dismay. Do not know if it was a frustration, disappointment or hurt they have caused grief to the king size as to make him forget his beloved Lord, for even in the face of an illness the king rejected God in his heart and chose rely only on doctors.

This distancing of the Lord made the reign of King Asa at the end of his life did not present the incredible and impressive performance that can be seen at the beginning of his reign.

A special on the life story of King Asa should be engraved in our hearts: it was the word the Lord spoke to him and which also serve for our life and walk with the Lord:

Hear me, Asa and all Judah and Benjamin: The Lord is with you while ye be with him if you seek, to find, but if you forsake him, he will let you. 2 Chronicles 15:2

You, however, strive, and not your hands be faint, because your work will be rewarded. 2 Chronicles 15:7

As the Lord, your eyes go through the whole earth to show Himself strong on behalf of those whose heart is perfect toward him. 2 Chronicles 16:
